After a long-endured winter, the summer season has sprung and we all know what that means–it’s time to pack away your corduroy pants and pleated sweaters and break out your cutoffs and tank tops. And thanks to the rad at home DIY I’ve cooked up for you there is no need to fret about it either. I get it. Trust me, you’re not the only one suffering from the winter whites (a plague of dry elbows and pasty skin due to a far sufficient lack of Vitamin D).
The solution? A tangy, salty scrub that combines three very basic ingredients and will have your skin glowing like its mid-July after just one use! Oh and get this–it is all natural, homemade, AND incredibly easy to make! So really, what’s stopping you from giving it a try?
Exactly what you’ll need to get your elbows, knees, and everything in between ready for all your exciting summer adventures (makes about 3 ounces of scrub):
5 heaping tablespoons of sea salt
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1/2 a small lemon
1 small jar
Mashing it up:
In a separate bowl mix together the sea salt and olive oil until the olive oil is dissolved in the salt (they should form larger, yellow crystals). Next squeeze over the juice of half a lemon and mix thoroughly.
Scrub over your skin from head to toe in the shower or bath before slipping into your favorite O’Neill bikini and cover up and head to the beach!
