Malia Manuel surfing tandem with her Dad in Hawaii

Happy International Surfing Day everyone! Today’s a special day for anyone who loves the sport of surfing and or has a special place in their hearts for the love of the ocean. International Surfing Day is about reflecting back on surfing’s heritage, appreciating the ocean, and using the day to give back to the environment. Whether you go for a surf, take a dip in the water, or organize a beach clean up, take a moment today to celebrate the power of the ocean! We asked O’Neill Girls surf team riders Malia Manuel and Sage Erickson what surfing meant to them in one sentence or less. This is what they had to say:

“Surfing is my passion, lifestyle, and culture. It is who I am.” – Malia Manuel

“To me surfing means the world, it’s my life… in and out of the water its vibrant persona enriches everything around it!” -Sage Erickson
