Today’s Manicure Monday is a part of a special series we’re doing with FOAM Magazine! For the next couple of weeks we’re going to be featuring a different O’Neill Girl from our team and a nail trend she’s into!
What we love about this Double Take Manicure is the two toned colors and the way they blend together. Your eyes literally do a double take at first glance until they are able to pick up on both unique layering of the colors. Learn how to do this Double Take manicure yourself by following the steps below and be sure to check out more info on Annette, our Public Relations Coordinator in FOAM Magazines exclusive blog.
What You’ll Need:
-Orly Bonder Basecoat (optional)
-Small Paint Brush
-Raspberry Color Nail Polish
-Deep Teal Color Nail Polish
-Clear Top Coat Nail Polish
How To Do It Yourself:
Step 1: Get all your supplies lined up and ready to go. It might help to un-loosen your nail polish lids and get a small amount of acetone into a little bowl. Start off by applying the Orly Bonder as your basecoat to all your nails (this will prevent nail color from chipping or wearing off). Let dry for a couple minutes.
Step 2: Paint all of your nails with the deep teal nail polish and let dry. We waited about 10 minutes.
Step 3: Apply your raspberry nail polish to your nails leaving a small amount of teal color showing surrounding the raspberry. We found it best to place your raspberry nail polish brush onto the nail a couple centimeters up from the cuticle, and then pull down the center of your until you reach the end of your nail tip, leaving a few centimeters of teal showing around the permitter of the nail. Do so on all of your nails and let dry a couple minutes.
Step 4: Dip your small paint brush into the acetone and place it onto the raspberry color while wiggling your brush back and forth. The acetone will help blend the two colors together. Tip: Be sure to wipe off the excess acetone off of your brush so it isn’t dripping all over and eating away all your hard work. Repeat for all of your nails.
Step 5 & 6: Apply a layer of clear top coat to seal in your Double Take manicure and you’re all done!
