O’Neill- Wounded Warriors

O’Neill had the privilege to spend a day with the Wounded Warrior Battalion in conjunction with the Jimmy Miller Foundation teaching Marines how to surf as a part of their Ocean Therapy Program.

Team riders Torrey Meister and Nate Yeomans provided surf pointers as well as shared how they’ve dealt with injuries in the competitive realm of surfing.  They also put their surf instruction skill set to work by pushing first timers into a few waves. Some of Marines at the session have found a passion for surfing and have been a constant in the line up at DMJ’s, while the beginners grasped the stoke that we all are familiar with by riding waves.

O’Neill- Wounded Warriors

The Wounded Warriors mission is to honor and empower injured service members by providing unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service men and women.  The Ocean Therapy Program gives injured Marines the opportunity to recover by engaging in the ocean through surfing.  Check out the below links to learn more about the Wounded Warrior Project and the Jimmy Miller Foundation.
