You can visit the Galapagos Islands off the coast, trek thought the Amazon Rainforest’s or relax on one of the many stunning beaches. Here are a few locations that caught our eyes.
The Galapagos Islands are home to a wide range of native animals. This is the only place you can and many species including the giant turtle and blue-footed bobbys. The islands are also an excellent place to enjoy whale watching, experience fine dining, or go scuba diving. But if you are more like us, you can follow the lead of these local Galapagos sea lions, and work on your tan.
If the jungle is calling your name, answer its call by heading east, and exploring the wonders the Amazon Rainforest. It is no secret the Amazon is home to some of the most unique plants and animals anywhere in the world. The Ecuadorian Amazon is one of the best locations within the Amazon to take a guided tour. Guides are usually natives who are familiar with the Rainforest and know the best locations to find monkeys or fish for piranhas. After a long hike, you can stay at one of the many lodges they have to offer.
For those of you who are look for more that wildlife, we suggest visiting the city of Banos. Here you can find both “Pailon Del Diablo” and “Casa Del Arbol”. Pailon Del Diablo translates into “Cauldron of the Devil”. It is a massive waterfall with beautiful turquoise water. The waterfall is accessible either through a set of stone steps or for the more daring, through a suspension bridge which allows you to look directly into the waterfall below you.
Casa Del Arbol translates into “Tree House”. However this is no ordinary tree house. It is nestled near an active volcano and sits on the edge of a cli over looking a 100 foot drop. The bravest of visitors can take a ride on the swing. This swing sends you directly into air with nothing to hold you except rope and wooden board. Denitely reserved for the brave!
Ecuador is an exciting place filled with endless possibilities and adventure. It is a perfect place to explore and #RoamFree.
