What’s up, guys! Claire Wright, O’Neill Women’s Music Ambassador, here. I had the opportunity to copilot a helicopter from California to Tennessee with Revolution Aviation. (eatsleepfly.com) So, I’m stoppin’ by the blog to give you babes a little look inside my helicopter journey across the United States.

The journey started in Newport Beach, California. We then cruised over the remaining span of California into Arizona. I think the sickest part of that particular leg was flying over Palm Springs, California. Coachella was set to happen on that same desert sprawl just a week later. It was super rad to see the natural foundation that so many musicians were about to perform on!

Another place that hit home for me as a musician was Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Muscle Shoals holds a seriously cool roster of musical history. Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, and many more have all recorded music in this small Southern town. Just minutes after landing, it began to rain heavily. Lightening kissed the clouds and gave the sky a certain air of mystery and adventure. I definitely had an A-HA! moment that THIS is what it truly felt like to be living. Something about roaming unfamiliar towns with roaring skies gave my soul an unparalleled sense of freedom.

You are probably wondering how the heck music and aviation are correlated? Although people are stoked, no one really understands the correlation between my two passions. I love music because it terrifies me. I never know what is on the horizon. The vast amount of uncharted waters that comes along with music is what makes me fall in love with singing and writing. Well, the same goes for flying. You never know what new town you will see, what new perspective you will see the sun shine from. Helicopter flight is fully dependent on exploration and adventure. Yes, there is an aspect of fear that could accessorize such things. But, maybe that’s exactly what keeps me hooked?

XOXO,

Claire
