Every little girl’s dream is to go to the BIG APPLE, go to FASHION WEEK, heck experience the city life. Ever since I was a young girl, I would watch movies about New York and think to myself, “I will be there one day.”
Thanks to O’Neill, I finally got to fly to the East Coast for the first time! It was the most thrilling, exciting and anxious trip of my life. Just winning the contest I couldn’t contain my excitement and I wanted the next two weeks to fly by so fast. I guess it didn’t hit me that I was going to New York till Ashley and I were at the airport. That’s when my nerves were kicking in! In t-minus 6 hours we will be in New York!
Stepping off the plane in New York was surreal, the air so crisp and clean. It was amazing, snow everywhere, everyone rushing around the airport to get their baggage. Once we drove into the city from JFK, my eyes went “HEART EYED EMOJII” I couldn’t believe we were finally here!
After we checked in our hotel, “Dream Midtown” which is the cutest hotel ever with the friendliest staff, we of course bundled up even more with all of our layers and roamed around town. You got to keep warm in 1 degree weather! Especially if it feels like -11.
We ventured to the Upper East Side, Central Park, Times Square, the city gave us so much inspiration for our blogs. We did a ton of blog content, had pizza of course! I even hauled my first taxi ever and I felt SO AWESOME. There was never a dull moment in the city of dreams.
And being able to attend Anna Sui’s fashion show during NYFW was a dream to me. So many bloggers, models and photographers. SO chaotic but I loved every single bit. Sitting in our seats, I was so anxious, I just didn’t know what to expect. I was shaking, I just wanted the show to start. It still didn’t feel real to me, that we were there, attending NYFW, sitting a few rows away from the runway. Anna’s collection was beyond amazing. Gigi Hadid was the first one to open the show and right when we saw what she was wearing, all we could think of was “WOW.” Ashley and I knew we would dream about this show for the rest of our lives. So many colors, layers and ah, the makeup, hair was so on point and not to mention the PLAYLIST. I need to find out what playlist Anna used. It was definitely a big hit and everyone loved every single piece. Heck, I wanted every single piece in my closet right then and there!
The two and a half days we had in New York, just simply weren’t enough. I definitely plan on taking a trip back. Thank you again O’Neill so much for this opportunity of a lifetime. I’m so thankful especially that I got to share this opportunity with my best friend, Ashley and I can’t thank you enough. You guys rock!
I left my heart in New York and I miss the city terribly.
