"I have owned lots of O’Neill shorts for the past almost 20 years. These hyperfreak are pretty nice, but I think I prefer the superfreak models slightly more. This model feels a little smaller in the waist and thighs in addition to being shorter (18” as opposed to the 21” in the others). I like the styling but think I would like it more if I lost a bit of body fat. Just doesn’t feel as forgiving. But still fits. For reference I’m 35 year old, 6’1” and between 118 and 224lbs with about 19% body fat. I’m probably around an honest 37” waist after a meal and 36” fits but feels snug. I have the superfreak in 36” as well as 38” also, and the 36” feels looser than these in the same size and 38” is too big and falls down on me. Hope that helps others!"
