    Oh, no, no, no!

I’ve been wearing the pre-Fire Hyperfreaks for awhile and love them! So, I was excited to try my new Fire this year. The stoke fizzled in the first 10 seconds trying to get this suit on! What the heck happened? Is O’Neil regressing?? I could barely squeeze my body through the top, the thing was so stiff and thick- I definitely wasn’t expecting a “retro” wetsuit! The neck felt like it was ripping my hair out when I was pulling it over my head, and once on, I felt like I was in a choke hold. Luckily I had help taking the darn thing off or else I’d still be standing on the rocks with it partly down my shoulders, pinning my arms to my side. I want the pre-Fire Hyperfreak back! It was buttery smooth, easy, and warm. I’m going to look into exchanging this one for the original Hyperfreak- last year’s. Definitely don’t be a sucker for the Fire!

For reference, it was the 4/3, size 6. And I had to click on at least one star just for this to post.

    I got this wetsuit hoping

I got this wetsuit hoping that it could take place of my old 5 mm wetsuit for surfing in Northern California. I used it three times so far and it is definitively warm so far (our coldest month is February so let's see).

But it feels more restraining in my arms and shoulders than the old 5/4 suit. I could feel pull on the upper body the whole surf session. The sleeves are so tight that I couldn't pull them any higher, and my wrists were already getting exposed anyway (I wear gloves and the wetsuit hardly covered them).

I ordered size that should be my fit, and was unsure, so I also ordered one size up. I sent the larger size back. There was a big gap on my back in the bigger suit.

The strange thing is that I am runner and a hiker so most wetsuits are hard to get over my legs, but I have never had any issues with any clothing article to be too small for my upper body. I carry backpacks for the shortest torso, small to medium bikini tops, and don't have wide shoulders.

I am going to contact customer service to see if by any chance this particular wetsuit is smaller than it should be.

Other than that, I love the suit. It pretty much stays dry on the inside and I was really toasty today when others have to leave early for cold. And it is easy to get in and out, except for the arms and shoulder.
