TEAM BIO
JORDY SMITH
Jordy Smith’s consistent and powerful approach to riding waves is quick to identify. He’s been recognized as one of surfing’s true talents from an early age, building up a mean track record of video parts and contest finishes throughout the years. Son of a board shaper, Jordy grew up on the beaches of Durban, South Africa. At nineteen, he won the World Junior Championship, qualified for the Championship Tour, and joined Team O’Neill in 2008. Smith’s CT career includes a runner-up finish in 2010 and five career event titles. Adept in and out of the competition jersey, he is also known for a massive North Point barrel to alley-oop combo as well as the notorious Mentawais rodeo flip. After more than ten years on tour and with the brand, Jordy continues to establish his legacy as one of the most talented surfers in the history of the sport.
