Lucas Owston, born on September 10, 2005, in Oceanside, California, is a rising star in the surfing world. From a young age, he demonstrated exceptional talent, winning the USA Surfing Prime event in Huntington Beach at just 14 years old. He has also secured multiple NSSA victories, further establishing his reputation as a formidable competitor. 

In 2023, Lucas reached the finals of the SLO CAL Open at Morro Bay, finishing as the runner-up. His performance included a near-perfect 9.50 score, highlighting his powerful and dynamic surfing style. The following year, he continued his impressive streak by advancing to the quarterfinals at the SLO CAL Open Pismo Beach, where he delivered a standout 8.83 wave scores.  

Lucas draws inspiration from power surfers like Jordy Smith and Bobby Martinez, aiming to blend strength with fluidity in his surfing. When he's not competing, he enjoys spending time at his local spots, including Oceanside Pier and Harbor. Beyond surfing, Lucas is a straight-A student with an interest in the stock market, and he credits his father as his hero and primary influence.  

As he continues to progress in his surfing career, Lucas remains focused on enjoying the sport and pushing his limits, all while maintaining a grounded and balanced lifestyle.
