Russell Bierke

Born in 1997 on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, Russell Bierke moved to Ulladulla, New South Wales, Australia, at the age of five. The son of Kirk Bierke, an experienced big wave surfer and shaper, Russell was riding substantial waves by the age of 10. By 16, he had surfed renowned big wave spots like Mavericks and Mullaghmore, establishing himself as a rare talent in big wave surfing. n 2018, at 21, Russell reached the finals of the Big Wave Awards, securing his spot on the World Surf League (WSL) Big Wave Tour. He made an immediate impact, reaching the finals at the Nazaré Paddle Challenge during his first visit to the Portuguese big wave spot. The following year, he scored one of the best waves at the Jaws Big Wave Championships in Hawaii.  Russell's surfing is characterized by his calm demeanor and maturity beyond his years, allowing him to excel in challenging conditions worldwide. He continues to push the limits of big wave surfing, earning respect from peers and enthusiasts alike.
