Jordy Extends Lead in Title Race
Team O’Neill’s Jordy Smith (South Africa) has maintained the #1 world ranking and the yellow jersey with his second place finish at the World Surfing League’s stop at Lower Trestles. Smith was on the top his game throughout the event eventually coming up short against Felipe Toledo in a wave starved Final. His second place finish extends his world title race lead over John John Florence heading into the final 3 events of the ’17 season. Jordy ends the US leg of the WSL World Tour sitting first in the WSL rankings with a potential maiden World Title in his sight. The tour now moves to the European leg with the France and Portugal Pros event before ended the season at the Pipe Masters in Hawaii.
